Content rules for submissions

What we publish

  1. We remove personal contact details, and may edit for length and clarity (not meaning) or ask for evidence.
  2. We don't publish submissions that are abusive, unverifiable in a way that targets a private person, or appear coordinated or retaliatory.
  3. Published stories are labeled “Guest's account · unverified.”
  4. Emails and IP information are never published. We keep a hashed network identifier only to fight spam.

Corrections, responses and removal requests

If you're a host or anyone named in an entry, you can submit a response or correction request. We will publish your response alongside the entry if you'd like. We correct factual errors in our summaries of public sources as soon as they're confirmed.

No legal advice; no affiliation

Nothing here is legal advice. The Renter's Court is independent and not affiliated with Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Expedia or any platform; platform names are used only to describe where an experience happened.

Your submission

By submitting, you grant us permission to publish, edit for length and clarity, and display your submission (without contact details), and you confirm you have the right to share it. You can ask us to remove your own story at any time.
